| COMPLETED FULL RESTORATION
1966 Ford Mustang Fastback
THE PROCESS
This car came to us in original paint with only minor body damage and minimal rust.
The 289 V8 ran well and needed only minor work performed including upgrade to a 4 barrel carb and intake.
The engine bay is now refinished and engine returned to body.
Floorpans were solid overall and needed only several small patches.
Floorpan surface rust was stripped, prepped and refinished to original color.
We restored the undercarriage to the original red oxide color.
Interior assembly progressing with Vintage Air A/C unit and refinished original side panels.
We improved the rear quarter windows drain system by adding a tube to redirect the water instead of relying on the factory plastic liner which becomes unglued over time and allows water to run under the rear seat and cause rust issues.
Even new replacement panels may require minor adjustment to fit the original body, such as these headlight assemblies and fenders.
The original paint served as a good foundation for the body refinishing. After straightening the damaged areas, the body was blocksanded to ensure straight panels
Painted body, ready for wetsand and polishing.
The glass is all-original save the windshield was replaced with a new Carlite.
The original exterior body mouldings and grille have been cleaned up and reinstalled with the new bumpers and lights.
The engine is tuned up and ready for the open road!
This driver quality restoration is COMPLETE!
